About Me
Hi, I’m Sam! 🙂
As a former teacher and current stay-at-home mama, I provide a unique perspective on motherhood. I’m taking on being a first time, adoptive mom in a transracial family. By sharing what I know and learn through my own experiences, I’m helping empower others to feel confident and take charge of their own journeys. I strive to make a meaningful impact on other parents who, like me, are looking for guidance on their ever-evolving parenting paths.
I’ve taught hundreds of students ranging from 2 year olds through 11 year olds as a “highly qualified” teacher. I made mistakes, had great victories, and learned so much. Now I’m doing the same thing through motherhood; making and faking it all at the same time. That’s what we’re all doing, right?!
I’ve been thrown a lot of curveballs in life, but one of the biggest ones has been my infertility and loss. I always felt in my heart that I was meant to adopt. Our winding journey led us to the successful adoption of our sweet boy. We’ve been navigating an open adoption, all while being first time parents.
Each day brings new growth, challenges, and joy. We’re continuing to learn to embrace the mess (literal and figurative), laugh so we don’t cry, and enjoy all the little moments that make everything oh so worth it.
Whether biological, foster, or adoptive, raising a child is a challenge. My hope is to share tips and tricks that have helped make parenting less daunting. This will include open adoption ins and outs, daily stay-at-home mom life with a toddler, traveling as a family, and more. Together, we can make motherhood a little less intimidating and a lot more fulfilling!
